When Dang Le Nguyen Vu and his friends started Trung Nguyen coffee in 1996, they soon realised that they needed to reach the public with their new brand. Borrowing money from family and friends, they set up a coffee shop in a busy commercial area of Saigon.
Now the company boasts a network of more than 1000 company owned or franchised shops in a number of countries, and the signboard of a Trung Nguyen cafe is one of the most prominent features in the streetscape of every Vietnamese city.
